Malak must be running out of ideas.” Mentally hearing Bierce’s smug remarks about her sworn enemy gave Doug Hauser some reassurance that he could handle whatever was about to happen, but he did still think it was weird that he found himself back at the carnival that he was sure he had gone through before. He figured he was done with this place after he grabbed the piece of the magical ring that Bierce needed. After that, he thought he wouldn’t have to deal with those freaky little clown gremlins and their stupid clown cars again. Doug walked down the familiar corridor, past the familiar unsettling carnival posters, until he reached the wide space with the carousel he remembered. This felt just like last time. “Enjoying your trip down memory lane, mortal?” Standing over to the side of the merry-go-round was the villain who had been trying to stop his quest for redemption through these various realms, the demon

26- Theme: Mummy In the world of superheroes, there have been many instances of villains who were thwarted in the past returning in the modern day to try continuing their reign of terror, only to find new opposition in the heroes of the current era. Han Feilong, the Dragon Emperor, is one of those villains. He was once a tyrannical warlord who ruled over China during the Qin dynasty with hopes of expanding his rule to lands beyond. He was also an adept sorcerer, able to control the classical elements of earth, fire, water, wood, and metal. However, due to a series of events revolving around a sorceress he became infatuated with, he found most of his power sealed away and he was mummified alive along with his most faithful soldiers. He was awoken for the first time in 1946, when a team of British and American archaeologists uncovered the emperor’s tomb. After being arisen, he slowly regained his original power. Fortunately, the descendant of the original sorceress was keeping a

23- Theme: Plague Doctor During the period of European history known frequently as the Dark Ages, perhaps the darkest of these ages was the time when Europe was gripped by the bubonic plague, also known as The Black Death. Based on the knowledge at the time, plague doctors did what they could to alleviate the suffering of the infected, despite what their ominous appearance may imply. However, only some of these masked individuals were actually experienced physicians; some were people who meant well but were not doctors or were new to the position. There were even some who used this position to take advantage of the misfortunate. Talbot Graves was one such alleged doctor. Having graduated from a medical school in London, he did have credentials as a doctor, but his intentions were anything but good. While he did help some lucky patients, most would find themselves as unwitting test subjects for Graves’ experiments. He used them to test experimental medicines and other chemicals with

19- Theme: Jack-O-Lantern No one knows where it came from. No one is sure what it is. Some don’t even think it is real, thinking the disappearances connected to it are just a coincidence. At most, it had to be just someone taking advantage of a local legend to commit heinous acts. Even its name is called into question with some calling it the ghost of Jack the Ripper and others calling it the Jack-O-Lantern. But the people of Manchester knew that there was something stalking their streets at night, and it responds to the name “Jack.” Those who claim to have seen Jack up close say it looks like a plant being in the vague shape of a person with branch-like limbs wrapped in vines and foliage covering its torso almost making it look like it’s wearing a jacket. Its most notable feature is that it has a pumpkin for a head with a single hole carved into it where a red light shines from it, indicating the hole is the creature’s eye. There may be other features carved into the pumpkin, but

16- Theme: Vampire Where: Livewire Nightclub, Los Angeles, California, USA. When: December 31/New Year’s Eve, 1984, 11:37 PM. It was a good thing they were in Los Angeles. She would hate to have to be outside right now if it was cold out. Leaning against the wall, she pulled a cigarette and a lighter out of her pocket. After lighting it, she took a long drag from the cigarette, then took a long time to breathe the smoke out. It didn’t make her feel better. “AAAAAH! I HATE THAT MAN SO MUCH! UUGHH!” She let out a frustrated scream then held her head. This was supposed to be a fun night out. They’d hit the town for New Year’s and party the night away. Just her and Xavier. They’d meet at the Livewire in West Hollywood and party the night away. But now, she just wanted it to end. = A few minutes earlier... “Here we go,” she said as she walked into the nightclub. The music was loud and pulsing, and the lights were bright, colorful, and shining as she walked over to the

9- Theme: Graveyard This whole situation had bad sign written all over it. After his car wrecked on the side of the road, he wandered up the road through the woods to where he thought he saw a light. However, after seeing that the source of that light was inside a cemetery, he was second guessing himself. It didn’t help that the sun had already gone down and now things were dark. He looked back the way he came, imagining the long trek back to his car and really wishing he hadn’t forgotten his phone at home that day. He then looked back at the entrance to the cemetery and figured he may as well try to find help here. He was short on options right now after all. It felt eerie walking past all the tombstones of the graveyard and the occasional mausoleum standing tall above them, but he could also see a building off in the distance with the lights on inside. This felt like it would be simple to deal with. As long as he didn’t run into anything unpleasant, he could deal with being a

1- Theme: Spiders Okay, so, me and my partner Frella just got out of a really tough fight with this huge spider digimon and, no-cap, I am still trying to get that thing outta my head. Ugh. Is recording something about this really gonna help? Yes Natalia, it helps. Both for you to process what happened and for reference later if we run into it again. Okay, Frella says it helps. Maybe, I’ll get a few comments if I post this later. By the way, that’s my partner Frella. She’s the Biyomon standing a bit behind me. Anyway, the thing we ran into was this big spider thing. Like the bottom half of it, just pure spider. Multiple legs, a bulbous central body covered in yellow, red, and purple stripes. I could almost say it looked like a circus clown and that does not help things. Ugh! No! Anyway, it’s upper half almost kinda looked human, but it still had these big arms with clawed hands, multiple blue eyes, and a big freaky horned face with mandibles. That’s what they’re called, right? I
